Amy and Nomi

Kristin and Michael's second birth with me was a home birth! It was truly an amazing night. With their son sleeping in the next room Kristin was peaceful and strong. Michael couldn't believe his eyes. one and a half hours of a perfect dance between mommy and baby.  Midwives loved every minute. Her use of HypnoBirthing was perfect. This best was watching their son meet his baby sister for the 1st time. Your heart just melted!

Just a Few Birth Stories!

Enjoy...

In the weeks, days and hours leading up to delivery Shira was an invaluable part of our
birthing team. In the seventeen hours of early labor she was there at every minute to help support me and my needs. She was able to quickly and easily determine what would make me more comfortable and was always one step ahead with a cold wash cloth, ice water, soft hands for a massage, or whatever it took to help me have a joyful birth experience.

Dearest Shira:
I wanted this letter to be special – touting how wonderful it was to have you as my doula. Yet, the
more I try to put this amazing experience into words, the less I seemed to convey.
How does a high-risk client, and new Mother, extend her gratitude for controlling gestational
diabetes, halting the process of renal (kidney) failure, eliminate fears, take over holding you up
when your husband starts to pass out while getting an epidural, and still manage to make you feel
like a queen while stroking your hair and holding the special splash-free bowl your throwing up in?
I learned about informed choices, and how to make them. How to relax, breath and get in touch
with my body - first through the Hypno-birthing book, then together. I learned to accept whatever
may happen. That my body is more capable than I ever realized. And my husband still wants to
“tune in Tokyo”.
Thank you for being there, for giving all you have, and turning the near-death birth experience
with my first child into a dream come true with this one.
Love and blessings,
Jessica, Kevin and Laird “Hooter”,

Amy was amazing! She stumped the nurses with her smiles and strength. Amy met and exceeded every goal her Dr gave her, proving she was in charge of her own destiny.  She always remembered to breath and keep her mind on the thoughts of her baby girl. By true perseverance, and by gently loving her baby she became a Mother. Nomi was in awe of his wife! Using touch, soft words of encouragement, and being totally attentive to all her needs, he was not only a great husband but a true Father. They worked together and let nothing stand in their way of a drug free delivery! Guiding and supporting them in this amazing experience was a joy and a privilege for me. -And I thank them.

Sometimes there's just a different plan for us. The most important thing is always the end result, "Happy, Healthy Mommy and Happy, Healthy Baby!" -And they are! Helping them was a joy and a honor for me.

every BIRTH CAN BE A JOYFUL BIRTH.

Michiko and Keith started their family by welcoming their daughter into the world. Michiko was awesome!  She followed her body perfectly. She tried all suggestions and everything seemed to work.  Cruising through each stage of labor, she smiled with the thoughts of meeting her baby girl for the first time. The only signs of her surges were her slowed breathing and pauses in her cheerful smile.  Motherhood never looked so beautiful!  She astonished the nurses by birthing her baby with only two deep breaths, never pushing at all.  She told me that catching her own baby and bringing her up to her chest was amazing and surreal.  She did it all without any drugs or even an IV.  FANTASTIC Michiko!
Keith was great!  His attentive nature, loving massage and constant kisses with soft words really helped his wife.  Keith's excitement and love was enjoying to watch.  Their birth left the Doctor and staff in awe.  Finishing up my summer of new baby girls with such an amazing birth was a true blessing for me.
-And I thank them! Great job!

Since 2003

Tracy and Gilbert are second time clients.  Their first daughter is now 2 1/2.   This time Tracy didn't have as may medical problems during her pregnancy.  An epidural free birth was her goal. Tracy's first daughter was well over 9 lbs at 2 weeks early.  So her decision was to be induced after a week of off and on labor at 40 weeks.   She was great.  We used natural means of induction to keep the Pitocyn low.  Tracy handled it so well the Dr. didn't think she was in "real labor".  She taught the nurse on duty the HypnoBirthing breathing down technique.  I gave the nurse articles to read and now she said she is looking into becoming a practitioner.  It was amazing!  She stumped the the Doctor with her smiles and calm behavior.  I talked them into moving her into the Delivery Room even though they thought it was too soon.  Her son was born 17 minutes later in three breaths.  The best part was after the birth.  Tracy could not say enough how much better she felt this time not having the epidural.  She was able to get up and walk around, go to the bathroom and eat Chinese food which Gilbert raced out to get her.  What a proud and wonderful Daddy he is. It was amazing!  Thank you to both of them for having me there.  What a joy to be a part of!
